Will There Be An Electronic Voting In 2019? : See What The INEC chairman Had To Say

The chairman of the Independent National  Electoral Commission INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu  has disclosed that there would be electronic balloting in the coming 2019 general elections and subsequent elections.

Mahmood Yakubu made this disclosure while at Abuja when he spoke at the International Press Institute World Conference which held yesterday.

He said; "There is no electronic voting in 2019.

In other words,  there will be no use of electronic voting in the next general elections but technology is already being used in many aspects of the processes.

Electronic voting should be the ultimate step in the chain involving five inter-related processes"

However,  prior to this announcement from the INEC chairman,  some Nigerians have called for the use of electronic voting processes in the forth coming elections.

They argued that the involvement of electronic processes will prevent rigging and electoral malpractice before,  during and after the election.
