Hard work pays, but smart work pays better. If you’re going to earn more, you don’t necessarily have to work harder, but you do have to work smarter.

1. Plan your Activities for the next day:

 It’s better when you have this written down on paper. Doing this clears your mind and increases your productivity. It’s been said that one minute spent in planning saves ten in execution.

2. Apply the 80/20 principle: 

It’s always true that 2 items are more important that 8 others put together. Hence, look for those very important tasks that requires time and consciousness  and deal with them first.

3. Create time blocks: 

You must create time blocks dedicated to each item. This implies that you assign a certain amount of time to a particular item. Also, make sure to set aside chunks of time like extra time for unexpected task and unforeseen circumstances .

4. Take breaks: 

Taking breaks at interval refreshes your energy and makes you more productive when you get back to work than you’d have if you hadn’t taken that break. It’s a fact that if you take 1 or 2 days off, you’ll be far more productive during that week.

5. Be very economical with your time:

 Look at every request for your time as the amount of time left to work. Time is your scarcest resource.

Finally, your goals for everyday should be to get the highest return on your investment of physical, mental and emotional energy.
